ReOBS
A new approach to synthesize long-term multi-variable dataset
Welcome
The objective of the ReOBS project is to create a multi-parameter dataset with a high level of quality control in a format that can be easily used by the scientific community for the study and understanding of climate variables at the regional scale. ReOBS aims to synthesize, analyze and homogenize all the observations of an ACTRIS site in a single NetCDF file with a time resolution of one hour (Chiriaco et al., 2018). The ReOBS file follows the CF and GCMD conventions for metadata as well as FAIR principles.
The “ReOBS” tool :
- Adapts to the raw input data defined and provided by the users/ACTRIS site.
- Applies an advanced quality control to detect and remove erroneous data through procedures documented in an ATBD available on request.
- Performs temporal and/or spatial averaging of the data.
- Creates a complete, merged and documented NetCDF file.
All developments are tracked on a git repository in order to document the different choices that were made to build this database.
